Waterloo – Coconut Lime Cooler

Guess what? I scored another “Guy Fieri’s Flavortown” sparkling water—this one just in time for summer, along with the notorious “heat index” that just made my word document swell to 300%, uninvited, even though I’m sitting in the AC. (By press time, my word program stopped working altogether, but I blame neither the heat nor Fieri.) Attractive green and white can with brown (coconuts) and bright pink (flamingo, beach umbrella) details. The drawing of the “lime cooler,” in a glass with a straw, is appetizing. Actually, more so than the water. It’s not bad or anything, it’s fine, but I find it a little gross. What does Fieri do, just take a couple of established flavors and then throw in some vanilla and call it a day? Or maybe it’s just that I haven’t really liked a fruit and coconut combo flavor, yet, any version—something off. What this one needs, I think, is for you to throw a little rum in it. I don’t mean rum flavor, as part of the formula, but rather, specifically, this water, as it is, and then a couple shots of any kind of rum into the glass with it. That would make it an alcoholic drink, I realize, but I really think those flavors would all compliment each other. I’m not saying you should try this, or shouldn’t, you’ve got to make your own decisions. Just for the record, I won’t, however, be taking the rum route anytime soon.
