Organik Botanik – Rosehip & Manuka Honey

“Pink Panik”

This is a perfectly lovely soap that doesn’t irritate my skin and has a bold rose and honey fragrance—if it was dessert, it’d be long gone by now—yet, it gets a bit of the short shrift from me—due to no fault of its own. For one thing, it was part of a set of three Organik Botanik Manuka Honey soaps—and this is the third one I got to—so it seems like it’s been hanging around forever… like a broken heart. And it’s pink. For no good reason, I have a very slight aversion to pink soap—don’t ask me why. The tiles in my bathroom are pink, so you might think I’d welcome a friend. The soap’s not only pink—it’s a bit two-tone, pink and white, or maybe it's pink streaked with white. If this soap was, say, saltwater taffy, it would be perfect, regardless of the flavor. So that’s two waves of regret at not being able to eat it! Which, shouldn’t be a… Oh, well, I don’t know what the problem is—I’ve been enjoying this soap, in the shower and the bath—and it’s big and it lasts and it’s from New Zealand! It’s just that the bar is set so high here at Soap Exotica—it’s like nothing less than a pure inspiration—like a new Chandrika, or the long, lost Caswell-Massey (the favorite of Edgar Allan Poe)—is going to do it!
