Waterloo – Ruby Red Tangerine
/I certainly expected this one to be red—I don’t know why—and knew I’d be wrong—haven’t yet come across a sparkling water that’s tinted. The can is lovely, one of the palest orange objects I’ve ever seen. The tiny font flavor is in light red, but everything else is varying degrees of very light orange—the background almost white. Some of the printing so light you can’t read it. If you’re holding this can at an art opening, you’re sure to make a new friend. It’s got three names, which is getting a little nuts, so why not. I doubt that “Ruby” is the gemstone—though I’m sure there’s someone out there who sucks on precious stones and swears they have flavor. So, what I believe this is, is grapefruit (ruby red) and tangerine—great combo—and it is very nice, not too much of anything—a complex citrus flavor. I suppose they could have called it Ruby Red Grape Fruit Tangerine—and just really embraced the confusion! Is it ruby? Is it red? Red grape? Or fruity? Is it grapefruit? Is it blood orange? Is it chicken? What will it go with? Everything in the kitchen!
